28/06/09 - British Championships 2009, Banbridge, NI
Both bands made the long trip to Northern Ireland for the British
Championships at the weekend, showing great commitment from all members.
However, there is not so good news to report from here, the Grade 2 band
finished in 9th place, we felt it deserved better but it was not to be,
back to work at the MSR's.
The Grade 4 band qualified in second place in their MAPS heat but were
also placed 9th in their final.
Wounds will be licked and we will all be back at it at Ashbourne in a
fortnight and then to the European Championships in Inverclyde at the
end of this month.

Great news to report today ..... the Grade Two band played their way to
second place at this year's Scottish Championship. The hard work
during the winter, head scratching and soul searching would, it seems,
to have paid off. The rain held off and the band's collective nerve held
strong. Congratulations to all pipers and drummers in the band.
A YouTube video of the performance is available on the

a special mention to Craig Budge who has made a winning start to his
career as leading drummer with the Grade Four band, well done Craig, we
